We are a collective of artists, students and professionals striving to create a platform for you and I. We highlight stories, people and issues that don’t get enough airtime in our oversaturated content marketplace. We are entirely dependent on you, the reader, to share and contribute to our mission. We’re primarily focused on stories that are dear to all of us. You know, the day-to-day everything: work, relationships, pop culture, sports, travel, lifestyle, identity. You name it, write it, and share it.

The Idea

Back in 2015, a small group of friends had the idea for a magazine. In the months that followed, they reached out to friends and family, relying on their community to provide the content. To their surprise, people were interested.

Volumes 1 - 3

In January 2016, Volume 1 of Pressed Magazine was released! In a small Toronto bar, friends and family came together to celebrate. Volumes 2 and 3 were published over the course of the following 2 years. These magazines were put together by a group of dedicated volunteers, and the money was raised among them to print through a small, local printer.

Today

The idea for Volume 4 was inspired by the 150th birthday of Canada. 18 months later, the volume was finally published. It stands out as Pressed’s greatest work to date. At 206 pages, it might qualify as a book rather than magazine.
